Consultation for Clinicians
Individual and group consultation for therapists seeking EMDR consultation toward certification, clinical support for complex presentations, or guidance in building a private practice.
Consultation designed for where you actually are in your clinical work.
Whether you are working toward EMDR certification, navigating a clinically complex caseload, or thinking through the structure of your private practice, consultation is most useful when it fits the specific questions you are bringing. I offer several formats depending on what you need.
All consultation is offered by Vanessa Simmons, LPC, SEP, an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and Basic Trainer with direct experience in EMDR intensives, somatic approaches, and solo private practice.
Start with a free 15-minute conversation.
Before scheduling ongoing consultation, I offer a brief discovery meeting, approximately 15 minutes by phone or video, to get a sense of what you are looking for and whether this is a good fit. There is no obligation and no fee for this initial conversation.
To schedule a discovery meeting, email contact@meadowgrovecounseling.com with a brief note about the kind of consultation you are interested in and your general availability. I will follow up to find a time.
HSA and FSA cards are not applicable for consultation services. Payment is due at time of service. Consultation hours provided toward EMDRIA certification are documented and provided in the format required by EMDRIA.
What EMDRIA certification requires and how consultation supports that process.
EMDRIA certification requires completion of an EMDR Basic training, a minimum number of clinical hours using EMDR, 12 hours of EMDRIA credits, and 20 consultation hours with a consultant. The consultation component is not simply a formality. It is where much of the real clinical learning happens, particularly for complex presentations that do not respond to standard protocol application.
In EMDR consultation I am particularly interested in the places where the protocol gets complicated, where clients are not progressing as expected, where the history is relational and developmental rather than event-based, where the standard targeting sequence does not fit the clinical picture. Those are the conversations where consultation tends to be most useful.
